Monday Morning Checklist – Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Happy 2016! It’s time to submerge into a new year of VBS.
As a VBS director it is easy to feel like the town crier announcing dates, calling for supplies, pleading for workers, and challenging the congregation to get as excited about the possibilities of VBS as you are.
January is an important month for announcing VBS to the congregation. If you haven’t already done so, it is important to announce the date and time as soon as possible. Many workers are required to submit vacation requests during the first few weeks of the year.
Now is also a good time to enlist a person or team to plan and implement publicity to both the congregation and the community.
Effective publicity isn’t a one-time event. It should be layer upon layer of information, released over time, that builds excitement and anticipation.
By starting your VBS 2016 publicity campaign now you give potential workers an opportunity to arrange their schedules, as well as help families get VBS on their calendars ahead of the many activities that compete for the few short weeks of summer.

I was wondering, whatever happened to Rocket Pack Jack? We were left with a cliffhanger. Looking forward to Submerged!
