Sneak Peek Week—Crafts
I know you haven’t even gotten through 2012 and we’re talking 2013 already. But hey, that’s the world we live in on the VBS team. Anyway, I am going to give you a heads up on a few craft supplies you might want to be stashing away for next year.
Wondering what to do with all those extra plastic Easter eggs? Save the bottom half of each egg for crafts next year!
Got any old CD jewel cases sitting around? Save them for a weeklong craft idea in 2013!
Drink up and save those empty water bottles, you’re gonna need them.
And of course no VBS week would be complete without the use of craft sticks in some fashion.
For those of you out there who like to use our Club VBS option, you might need to save spring-type clothespins, felt in bright colors, and brown paper grocery bags.
Cindy says
Thanks Carol for the heads up!!! My husband loves that our spare room becomes the VBS stash room 🙂
Denise Smith says
Which end is the bottom half of a plastic Easter egg?
Melita Thomas says
Good question, Denise! The bottom half is the rounded one, not the pointy one.
tammyewalker says
Will the multi color eggs be used? Would pastel or bright eggs be better?
Jencie Gibson says
How many eggs should we save? Does each project only require one-half of an egg, or are several pieces put together?
Carol says
The color of the eggs doesn’t matter. Each child will need one-half of an egg. Are you getting curious yet?
Sue says
How exciting that we can start putting stuff back for next year’s VBS! As each year passes, our budgets (ours anyway) seem to get smaller and smaller. It is great that we are able to use so may items that are either low cost or free! Very curious what these crafts will be!!
vicky says
Buy up now while they are 75% off!!
veronica says
What size water bottles – 8oz, 16oz, 20oz?
Carol says
Veronica,
There is a children’s craft and a preschool craft that will use water bottles. For the children’s craft the size doesn’t matter as you will be cutting the top portion off of the bottle and only using the bottom.
For the preschool craft the 12-16oz would probably work the best.
Cheryl Newton says
Will we learn a way to make a rol;ler coaster craft to paint
Christine says
Thank you for the advice I work in a grocery store our Easter eggs always go 90 percent off to get rid of them. I can get those for about 25-40 cents depending on the size of bag. I have a set budget like Sue and I like the super sampler coming out 1st of December I can get the items we need for almost all the snacks clearanced out from Christmas over stock and the dates are good till vbs next year saves a lot of money did it for 2012.
