Thanksgiving Traditions
Keith, here. . . I hope everyone is having a great day!
As I get older, whenever I think about Thanksgiving, I start to think about the traditions my family had when I was younger and the new traditions I have now with my wife and daughter.
- go to a movie that night
- last year, I took a nap with my 3 year old daughter (this is a new tradition) 😉
- go to the Opryland Hotel and view all the Christmas lights (new tradition)
- watch some football
- watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
- go over to my Aunt Kathy’s house and enjoy her “home-made” apple pie
I latter found out that her “home-made” apple pie was store bought! 😐
Here are some traditions from other people in the office.
Courtney: I eat and watch football! And I drive around three quarters of middle Tennessee!Candace: Basically our tradition is to be in the car all day going from one family to the next.Jackie: We have a turkey bowl (football) after our meal. All the male cousins play and we watch them knock each other around.Gordon: We go to the tree farm and get our fresh cut Christmas tree.Teresa: some of our family always watches the Family Griswald Christmas.Debbie: Lots of family, food, and football at my dad’s house!Todd: Usually put the Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving afternoon. Black Friday shopping.Carol: We put up our Christmas decorations.Shirley: Taking all the sale papers, throwing them all over the floor and having the kids take different colored sharpies and circle everything they want! Dream big!!
What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions?
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1

Happy Thanksgiving to all the VBS staff in Nashville! Don’t eat too much turkey… remember, “you are what you eat”!
Joyce says
I cook a mega breakfast and anyone that wants can come eat at 9 am. Some of my family do not like turkey or ham. Then everyone does what they want…sleep, tv, play games, go visit others. I work on strategy for shopping and enjoy the afternoon with my hubby watching movies. Keep it simple!
