Each year a style guide is created by LifeWay’s VBS team to insure the many teaching resources, decorations, and promotional items stay connected to the theme and design. Few people beyond the graphic designers, editors, and suppliers ever see the guide, but here is your chance to get an insiders look at some of the guide’s valuable information:
Style Dos & Don’ts
Dos: telescopes, binoculars, charts, crates, solar system mobles, flashlights, backpacks, bikes, scooters, wagons, tents, planets, Hubble images, Orion, Big Dipper, Little Dipper, all non-Zodiac constellations, Milky-way, comets, meteors, and kid made things for a club house.
Don’ts: astrology, Zodiac signs, space ships, space travel, interior of rockets or space ships, astronauts, aliens, space men, and space suits.
The word “Starveyors” is hand-drawn lettering. A font such as Origo or Manus could be used as an alternative.
“Oil Change” is used for the word “Galactic” in the logo and as headers throughout the curriculum.
“Londrina Solid” is used for the subtitle in the logo and as subtitles throughout the curriculum.
Color Designations for Age Group Curriculum
Grades 1-2: Red
Grades 3-4: Teal
Special Friends: Purple
Spanish Preschool: Violet
Spanish Grades 1-6: Orange
