DIY Starveyor Shoes
VBS fashion is serious business. Many people start planning early what they can wear during VBS to bring the theme to life in their churches. I’m always amazed by the ways so many of you immerse yourself in the VBS theme every year … sometimes literally from head to toe! There was some very interesting footwear traipsing around VBS Previews back in January. So today I thought we’d take a look at the link on the Lifeway VBS Pinterest page that inspired the fabulous footwear.
Check out these Galactic Starveyor Shoes! 100% DIY and 100% on theme! They’re so much fun, you’ll want to make a pair for yourself!
To make Starveyor Shoes you will need:
- White canvas shoes
- Permanent markers (in blues, pinks, purples, and black)
- Rubbing alcohol
- Dropper
- White fabric paint
- Remove laces from shoes.
- Starting at the toes, draw bands of color across the shoes. It is not necessary to completely color in all of the white space.
- Drop rubbing alcohol onto the shoes. This will cause the colors to bleed together. Allow to dry.
- Add dots of white fabric paint to look like stars.
For more detailed information (including pictures of each step), click HERE for the link to the original post. This is a project you really can’t mess up. So have fun with it and have fun wearing them!

Once the ink dries, if the shoes ever get wet, will it bleed onto your socks or feet.

Use scotch guard after 🙂

Permanent ink doesn’t bleed once dry from the alcohol. The only way it will change is if hit with alcohol so if you stay away from showers of alcohol, you should be good.
