From the Archives: Preparing Teens to Lead Backyard Kids Clubs

PREPARING TEENS TO LEAD BACKYARD KIDS CLUBS
1. Pray for God’s direction in deciding where the school or club will meet.
2. Secure a safe location with adequate restroom facilities and drinking water.
3. Plan a detailed schedule.
4. Provide teens with a job description and sufficient training.
5. Make certain that you have adequate adult supervision and help with discipline and guiding behavior.
6. Provide materials and supplies (including registration forms, among other items).
7. Plan for inclement weather (rain or heat).
8. Partner with local churches to follow up on prospects.
9. Provide spiritual preparation for teens.
10. Allow teens to exercise their gifts in ministry without hindrance.
