10 REASONS FOR YOUTH VBS
Perhaps you are tempted to skip this article to focus on VBS for children or on other youth events. In so doing, you risk neglecting a vital ministry opportunity for teenagers in your church. Take a moment to consider these reasons to conduct Youth Vacation Bible School.
1. Youth are never too old to study the Bible.
2. For effective Bible study, youth need variety.
3. Youth VBS helps lead students toward spiritual transformation.
4. Youth VBS builds leaders.
5. Youth VBS provides prospects for Sunday School.
6. Youth VBS provides a focus on missions.
7. Youth need to memorize Scripture.
8. Youth need fellowship with Christians.
9. Youth need to hear the gospel.
10. Youth need the One True Answer.
Perhaps the question you should be asking is, “Why are we not doing Youth VBS?,” for the benefits are clear. Youth VBS can make an impact in the lives of students.

I was at Shocco springs and didn’t get the mission project supplies that was listed. Could you sent them to me please. Want to go ahead and get started collecting. I think it was care packages like for hospitals and etc. Thanks

Peggy, it was great having you join us at the Alabama Associational VBS Directors training at Shocco Springs. The VBS16 project is called Tide You Over Packs. The idea is to file ziplock bags with food/snack items that could tide someone over during an emergency. Churches should work with local hospital emergency rooms, fire/police department, homeless shelters, and crises centers to determine specific items. Here are a few suggestions: bottled water, peanut butter/cheese cracker packs, trail mix, granola bars, fruit juice boxes, individual packages of pretzels, nuts, or crackers.
