Zip Tip: Safety Part 2
Part of helping the kids in your community learn about God is helping them learn in a safe, distraction free place. Here are some more tips to help them do this. For more tips on safety at Zip for Kids, click here.
- Keep good records about kids such as allergy information, parental contact information, and attendance records. Teachers will need to know how many kids they should have each day and keep a careful count of them. They may need some of the other information in an emergency.
- Establish a bathroom procedure that allows one teacher to supervise younger children from the bathroom door while always within sight of another adult. A teacher should never be alone in the restroom with a child. Remind teachers that this is for their protection as much as it is for the children.
- Follow a well thought-out drop off/pick up plan. This plan should include ways to keep kids safe and occupied while cars are coming and going to pick kids up as well as ways to be sure that an approved adult picks up each child.
