And First Place Goes To…
Congratulations to Dianne R. and Bethel Baptist Church, Sylvester, Georgia, for earning first place in the VBS Report race for 2013. The completed report form was the first of an estimated 25,000 that will be filed during the next three months.
Each year Lifeway mails out 48,000 personalized report forms. Every church and mission affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention should receive a form within in the next two weeks. Report forms are also printed each year in the VBS Administrative Guide.
Before your VBS becomes history, please take a few minutes to submit a report. Like a medical exam, VBS reports diagnose the health of the most evangelistic ministry we collectively do together.
Approximately 3 million people will participate in a SBC church VBS this summer. Of that total 10
percent will be from an unchurched family. Approximately 80,000 will make a profession of faith.
In South Carolina, the first 2013 VBS report we received was back in early May! Park St. Baptist Church in Easley, SC held their VBS in April during spring break. See the article about it at http://www.scbaptist.org/vbs.
One problem we have with filling out the form is that it asks (or at least in the past, haven’t looked at this year’s yet) for # of prospects added to Sunday School Enrollment. We can easily identify prospects as soon as VBS is over, but it takes us time to follow up with people & invite them to church so that over time they become enrolled. Question for the group: do any of you get people to enroll in Sunday School during the VBS week & if so, how?
No fair! We didn’t get a form in time. We did our VBS during Spring Break, April 1st-6th!
Personalized forms are just now being mailed out. Churches that have already submitted a report used the copy located in the Administrative Guide.

In years past Lifeway has made available the theme song for next years VBS. We always incorporate it into the closing night of our VBS along with the Logo. I am willing to purchase it as long as I can download this along with the D3 logo. Can you reply if this will be available.
