Happy National Swap Ideas Day!
Monday was National Swap Ideas Day! And VBS friends are THE BEST idea swappers in the world! Let’s fill today’s comment page with all sorts of fun VBS ideas from your craziest promo idea… to your best craft… to your yummiest snack ever!
And what about those “we do it every year” VBS traditions? We’d love to swap ideas for those things that make your VBS unique and special to your church!
I’ll start the ball rolling with a crazy promo idea. I remember a great friend who promoted her Ocean Odyssey VBS by splashing up out of the baptistery in full snorkel gear!
I can’t wait to hear your ideas. Let’s celebrate NATIONAL SWAP IDEAS DAY together!

Our VBS always starts on a Sunday night and ends on Thursday night with Family Night on Friday. On the Sunday morning of the beginning of VBS we have a VBS kick-off service. Instead of having a lot of info at the beginning of the service we have been doing something fun at the end of the service to kick-start our week. The year of the Big Apple Adventure we had the Ball Drop in Times Square. There was a count down with a lighted ball and it slowly dropped with the countdown. This year we flew a remote control plane with a VBS announcement behind it all around the sanctuary and had people throw paper airplanes from the balcony into the congregation.

I have written a short skit for the bible story for each night of VBS for submerged 2016. I will be glad to share these with anyone who would like to use them. Please email me at [email protected]
