Amazing! Simply Amazing!
There is an old gospel hymn titled “The Wonder of It All” that was the song director’s favorite at the church of my childhood. It starts with the phrase, “There’s the wonder of sunset at evening, the wonder as sunrise I see; But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul is the wonder that God loves me.”
That song has been on my mind a lot lately. We serve an awesome God who has amazing power, and the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul is the wonder that this awesome God with all of His amazing power loves me. Just a thought to start off this amazing Friday morning – the last Friday before the big crunch of VBS 2011.
Thank you for giving the gift of your time to VBS. Millions of lives will be challenged and transformed in the next few weeks as VBS leaders around the world share the Good News of Jesus through Scriptures, music, crafts, missions, recreation, and snacks. You are one of God’s amazing wonders!
Now on to VBS 2012!!! So how are you doing with the clues? By now you should have found at least eight impossible clues. Here is the latest installment —

Love those chattering teeth!
Don’t forget the VBS 2012 Sampler Sweepstakes. Respond with your guess today.
While there will be other clues both today and tomorrow, I’m through until Monday when I will see you at the live reveal at 1:00 p.m. (CST). You are sure to be amazed!. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for more clues!
Karen Standley says
My guess is that VBS 2012 is a SPACE theme. What an amazing way to grasp God’s amazing love for us than through the wonder and awesomeness of space.
Jennifer C says
Okay… I give up… I need more of today’s clues but I have too much to do today to look. Still can’t find clue #207. Don’t know why, but I still want to think it’s Christmas or maybe even a movie theme. Just wild guess because at this point I really have no clue!
Susan says
ok… I have to work… I can’t keep watching this stuff…AHHHHH!
Kelley Taylor says
I’ve found 10 impossible clues so far.
To quote Jesus:
“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Kelley Taylor says
A detective/spy theme!!
Clues!
Cryptograms!
Yesssss!!!
Donna says
I am starting to lean toward Washington State. There is Franklin D. Roosevelt lake in Grant County in Washington State. Then with the volcano, the coffee, the “needle” with the balls (space needle), Big Ocean, etc. I don’t know! It is fun guessing though! ;)I have guessed everything from science, arcade, Christmas, etc. LOL!
Justin D. says
I’m going to guess a superhero theme. But theres also the possibility of Italy or Seattle as some are saying. Who knows? But these clues are fun and cant wait til Monday! Ive found clues: 7, 27, 13, 1013, 57, 312, 5, 207, 16, 312, 98! Are there anymore?
Sara says
For some reason, I thought Lighthouse—with the reference to the “Great Lakes” yet again the Great Lake in Michigan are often referred to as “HOMES” (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior)–
Brittany Cole says
Teeth chatter when you are cold. Somewhere cold in the north.
Sara says
Still searching the W3….for more clues behind the clues…and found this:
Throughout history, Chattering Teeth have played a crucial role — Napoleon played with them at Waterloo. Custer played with them at Little Big Horn. Neil Armstrong played with them on the moon.
Jennifer C says
Americana theme???
Lori says
I’m still thinking a movie theme, but the Seattle references do seem to be getting stronger. Only found 2 new clues today so far, surely there are 3 like there have been other days. Any luck finding the 3rd? Found 98 and 326.
Brittany Cole says
I havent found #326. I guess I have more clues to find. I have 11 of them so far.
Sara says
#326 is on Facebook—but when it plays it repeats #312…as Super Ball….
Brittany Cole says
Oh ok I did find that one, I just only paid attention to it saying #312. Thanks!
Rachel Taylor says
The 3rd clue is also on Facebook!
Amanda Cunningham says
I’m guessing Space theme!
Matt Simpson says
I think the theme revolves around our national parks system…. Teddy Roosevelt in the savings clip created our national park system, in family photos they are visiting a natural resource, and in the close encounters clip we see mashed potatoes, in the movie “close encounters” the main character builds a model of Devils tower, one of our national park monuments out of mashed potatoes.
Sara says
Yet again, another guess—The Wonders of the World…Kaleidoscope=Northern Lights; Great Trip=Great Wall of China; Show Stopper=The Colosseum; and The Aquarium=Great Barrier Reef???
Brittany Cole says
Sara that is a good guess. One more could be the Victoria Falls – The Coffee lady “fell” when she tripped and he said her name ain’t Grace. Which could mean her name is Victoria…Victoria Falls.
Mike S says
I also thought about the 7 Wonders of the World…but Seattle would be fun since we live in Washington.
Adrienne says
Clue # 98 could be 2Cor 9:8…talking of God’s grace and having sufficiency in all things (hence the savings). I am getting the idea of God’s grace abounding and maybe a takeoff on the Amazing race-God’s amazing Grace!
Nadine says
now I’m thinking Washington – don’t think National Parks since we did something like that already
Rachel Taylor says
Love the idea of the Amazing Grace theme as a spin-off of the Amazing Race. That would be an awesome theme and the kids would love it!!
Susen Pruitt says
I must be a VBS nut when I periodically check the LifeWay site for more clues during the day and take my “work” home to do at night. I’m kind of going with a national park theme right now. I also like Adrienne’s thoughts on 2 Cor 9:8 for and all-encompasing Bible Verse.
Shelagh Daniel says
Wonders of the World maybe?
Lois says
Let’s go to Alaska!!!!
Pam Grantham says
Mount Rushmore
Naomi Andrs says
I Love the Amazing Grace/Amazing Race idea.
If we do the virtual prayer walking thing for next year like we are doing for New York this year I would love to see a Great Lakes theme as we live on Lake Superior.
The thing I am most looking forward to with the reveal is looking back at all of the clues and seeing the misdirects and the “obvious” clues imbedded in the overall picture.
cindi says
Canada?
sandra Lewis says
I still say “MOSES ON THE MOUNT” God told them to save the Manna and make bread for sunday for it will not go bad.
Manna fell from the sky (aka superballs) and Moses had a staff (aka the stick int superball video) I have researched every detail…Like i said on the fanpage wall that everyone is taking the clues the wrong way…think of the words the Great trip Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt headed for Canaan!
Kat Schaffner says
I’m going with South American Rain Forest theme- although I don’t know what spaghetti has to do with it.
Tabatha McMillan says
I am going out on a limp and say it is an Alaska theme, with the northern lights, the hot chocolate.
J Oberes says
Europe by rail/train!
J O says
Europe by rail/train
Tabatha McMillan says
What about an amazing race including stops in Hawaii, Italy, Antartica or Alaska, Seattle Washington, and sucjh places.
jennifer stearns says
Talk is cheap put your beliefs into action
Beverly says
Ok my guess is the natural wonders of the world (Great Barrier Reef, Mt. Everest, Grand Canyon etc.) Or could be Washington State. . .or California, or science expierments. . . or . . . .LOL. GUESS we will know for sure MONDAY!!!
Stacey says
My guess is that it is an “Exploring Space” kind of theme… am I right??? Can’t wait til MONDAY!!!
Susen Pruitt says
I still like the idea of a tour–to the national parks, big cities, natural wonders, Europe, the world or whatever! Doesn’t matter if it’s by plain, train, tele-transport or ???? All of us VBS NUTS will love it!
Susan says
Teddy Roosevelt… National Parks??? but I heard that Gospel Light publishers are doing “Sonrise National Park” VBS in 2012… that would be a strange coinky dink.
Lori says
I’m sticking with the movie theme. The Aquarium clue could be Jaws. I have no idea on the Teddy money clip or the picture clue, though.
J O says
Washington, DC / Smithsonian!
J Plummer says
I still believe it’s New Orleans theme!!
Sheila M says
I think it could be Italian theme we haven’t been there that I can remember. But the chattering teeth has gthrown me a little.
christy copeland says
I have no idea but I’m sure it will be good! I am going to be our VBS director next year for the first time!
Keith Tyrrell says
Hi Everyone! Well, today is Friday and I feel left out not having a Foto Friday. . .so, I decided to update a previous post with some “extras”! 😛
Lesia Terry says
I think it has something to do with the 7 wonders of the world!
Keith Tyrrell says
Looks like some people found my little surprise but they haven’t found my 2nd surprise on another post! 😛
Brittany Cole says
After decoding the “A Christmas Story” video clue, it says “Drink More Not Cocoa”. Anybody have a clue what that might mean?
Brittany Cole says
Also after checking out the picture posted by keith it looks like wings and a propeller in those pictures. Sounds like we might be going on an airplane ride!
Lori says
I think it says “Hot Cocoa” – still doesn’t help us figure out what it really means though.
Brittany Cole says
Typo my bad 🙂 I think we are going to Canada on a plane ride! North, cold, chattering teeth drinking hot cocoa, access to the “great lakes” and the “ocean”, Niagra Falls, volcanoes, northern lights…etc. That would be cool! This is my final guess.
Susan says
I’m not saying that it’s a movie/tv theme, but I have noticed some references to films that have a John Williams connection. Just a random thought… Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Wars, Superman, Jaws, Home Alone (Christmas), Lost in Space… maybe more? Interesting….
Steven McIntyre says
I think it is going to be a National Park theme.
Sandra Lewis says
I still say its something to do with Moses on the mount, or moses in the wilderness, or Lost tribes.
Marsha Boyd says
This is really tough to decide on one theme! It could be traveling around the world or something to do with Wahington. It has been a lot of fun looking for clues.
Tracey says
The Wonders of the World…b/c we are wonderfully made!
annmmoore says
My guess is that VBS 2012 is a SPACE theme. With a focus on our Amazing God!
elizabeth bink says
I think it has to do with creation, the pics resemble some of the 7 wonders (physical phenomeons) of the world. God is AMAZING and so is His creation!!
