This week is our annual VBS photo and video shoot, so it’s the first time our sets for Big Apple Adventure have been set up this year. I think they look pretty good! What do you think?

I am interested in the Rotation sites for 2011 VBS. We start working on our VBS decorations as soon as the theme is released. Is there a website to get this info? Has it been released yet? Thanks for your help. Pamila
Looks like a lot of backdrops, which is a great space saver. Is the snack background the SRR background? I’m interested in hearing comments from my area, Fl. So far they have an interest in Beach Blast. Love the Bible content for BAA.
Is the Worship Rally supposed to be a night-time view of Times Square? Hard to tell from the picture if it is a flat back drop or if there is some dimension to it. Will have to see what we can do with leftover Christmas lights. Have also thought about using neon paints and a black light to try to make any posters/back drops glow since it would be difficult to ‘light up’ everything like it really is in times square. May be hard to darken our sanctuary enough during the day since our VBS is in the morning.
Love it and really excited about next year’s theme if you get anymore infomation or ideas will you please let me know we just finished our’s this year and want to get started on next year’s.
The way the backdrops are hung looks like a shower curtain. Did you use a shower curtain or is it canvas with hooks like it? I use the paper drop cloths with the plastic backing so the paint does not run through. It worked great for the artic theme. Bed sheets work really well too.
The backdrops are heavy canvas that are hung from the ceiling. We actually had these painted at least three years ago and have used them during the last three themes!
Decorations would be the easiest for us for Beach Blast, since we are in FLorida. However I dont believe it would hurt me to paint a backdrop of New York either=) I do not want to choose a theme should be solely based upon the music or decorations. Does anyone know of a link or webpage where we can view the daily curriculum/ bible stories for the 5 days? My church is medium sized so we could go with either Beach Blast or Big Apple. However the bible study is more important to me than the music. As well as most children attending VBS are not christians and do not attend church regularly, so the big apple adventure sounds more likely for the young Christians who wish to share their faith rather than those who have not yet found the Lord. First year VBS director looking for any suggestions.

I can’t wait to get to Ridgecrest to see how all this is put together. Looks like some great ideas. We always come away saying “Yes, we can do this!”
