WOW! Big Apple Adventure!!! I’m already trying to think of how to decorate for Times Square!!!!
HELP we need many ideas for decorations for people who live in the desert and have never even been to New York!

Well i like that for a good theme for VBS….just went to NYC in the summer of 2006 and we stayed in an hotel right off from Time Square!! It was a GREAT visit, it is the city that never sleeps!!! So i have stuff ALREADY for that theme in 2011. But here’ s one i am definitely going to throw at cha’ for 2012. I couldn’t keep it out of my mind, it was an idea, and i think it would be a great theme for VBS 2012: The Amazing Hot Air Balloon Race (sorta’ like the show “Amazing Race” but in a biblical sense). I don’t think we’ve ever used the hot air balloons as a theme in the past. Just a thought. OR you could use the end of the world Mayan like theme (just kidding of course!!!!)

God is at work in the Big Apple! We are so excited that so many hearts and prayers will be pointed this way next summer!
We are just finishing our VBS for 2010 and I am already thinking of next year!!! One thing I was looking for was an inflatable Statue of Liberty -well, forget it. They are VERY expensive. But, I did find cardboard cutouts of Lady Liberty for about $20 (6 ft. tall). Other ideas: Grand Central Station, Central Park, St. Paul’s Chapel, and Empire State Building. We plan to have a hallway with buildings on one side and a street with cars, taxi’s, etc on the other side. Can’t wait to see the other ideas that Lifeway comes up with!
I do not like the chosen method for downloading the 2011 promo videos.
1. The provided links do not work. I get access denied
2. After I found the videos on Vimeo myself I had to register to be allowed to download them. Now I’m sure I’m going to get more SPAM. 🙁
3. To download the videos I had to uninstall Quicktime. With quicktime installed it keep playing the videos in IE. The only option to save the video was to pay for the full version of Quicktime. After uninstall I was allowed to download.
susanbf714 I love the idea of an amazing race type theme. My husband is the youth director at our church and we were thinking about doing a biblical style amazing race for our teenagers. this would be cool!
