VBS Clip Art File Formats

We offer each clip art item in three formats:

General Use items in JPEG format, which can be easily added to common applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. If you do not have advanced skills in image editing, these items will probably best suit your needs as they are. But, they may easily be edited in image editing programs, such as Adobe PhotoShop, PhotoShop Elements, and Jasc Paint Shop Pro.

Advanced User items for Windows and Mac in EPS format. These items are intended for users who are experienced with image and photo editing applications. Most of these files are vector-based images that may easily be edited to any size without loss of resolution.

Note: If you choose to download any of the "Advanced" images, they will be delivered in a compressed format due to their large size. Read further for information on decompressing these files.

How to Download VBS Clip Art

When viewing VBS clip art, choose the format that best meets your needs.

General Use

Windows:

• Click the link that says "General Use" under the image you want. The image will open in a new browser window.
• Right-click on the image and choose "Save Picture As"
• A dialog box will open asking you to choose a location to save the image. If you do not wish to save the image to the default location, choose a folder or shortcut from those given, or click on the drop-down list next to the words "Save in:", then browse through the locations until you find the desired folder.
• Click "Save."
• The file is now downloaded to the location you chose and is ready for use or editing.

Macintosh

• Click the link under the image that says "General Use." The image will open in a new browser window.
• Click and hold on the image, and choose "Download image to disk."
• In the "Save" dialog box, browse for your preferred location, then click "Save."
• The file is now downloaded to the location you chose and is ready for use or editing.

Advanced User (Windows)

• Click the link that says "Advanced User" under the image you want.
• A file download dialog box will open. Choose "Save" to save this file to your computer.
• A "Save As" dialog box will open. Browse to find your preferred location, then click "Save."
• When the download is complete, a window might appear asking if you want to open the file. Click "Open."
• The files are compressed using Winzip. You will need the Winzip extractor to open the files. Most Windows machines come pre-loaded with Winzip, however, if you do not have it, please visit their web site at www.winzip.com for more information.

Advanced User (Mac)

• Click the link that says "Advanced User" under the image you want.
• The Download Manager window will appear, showing the progress of the file download.
• When finished, your computer will automatically "unstuff" (decompress) the file.
• The decompressed file is now located on your desktop and is available for use or editing.

Special Instructions for AOL Users

AOL users will need to use Internet Explorer as their Web browser when downloading General Use clip art because the AOL browser does not handle this file type correctly. To use Internet Explorer, log on to AOL as you would normally, then open Internet Explorer. You must be logged on to AOL before opening Internet Explorer or it won't work properly. Then go to http://www.lifeway.com/yourvbs and download the clip art according to the instructions posted on our Web site. These files should work properly in any program that supports JPEG files.

Who has permission to use VBS clip art?

Outrigger Island slogans and logos are protected under trademark and copyright law. Permission is granted to churches who have purchased Outrigger Island resources to reproduce the slogans and logos for use in, and promotion of, Vacation Bible School. Only the purchasing church may reproduce the slogans and logos or have them reproduced by commercial outlets, on a custom order basis, to meet their needs. Other uses or reproductions of the slogans and/or logos are prohibited, including, but not limited to, a prohibition of vendors to advertise their services using the slogans or logos, and a prohibition to promote items bearing the slogans or logos to churches.
